“I’m obsessed with skin care; I’m obsessed with having clean skin,” Lucy Hale says, as she pulls her raven-hued bob away from her face, securing her baby hairs with a pair of Harry Josh’s mint-color crease-resistant clips. Today, the Pretty Little Liars actress, who turned 31 this week, is unveiling her extensive everyday beauty routine—a more-is-more approach, which all begins with Joanna Vargas’s Vitamin C cleanser and a splash of cold, pore-shrinking water.

“I am breakout prone…. I had really bad cystic acne in my 20s, [but] I kind of got it under control now,” she explains while massaging her face with Lancer’s pumpkin and pomegranate enzyme-infused exfoliator, beloved for providing instant results. “Baby skin!” she exclaims with a smile. From there, Hale moves onto her ultimate complexion-boosting weapon: Dr. Dennis Gross’s LED mask, which she tops off with a brightening rose gold sheet mask and Jillian Dempsey’s 24-karat vibrating bar.

“If I have a meeting [or] if I just want to feel cute, this is the makeup I do,” Hale says, dipping into her cosmetics case. There’s an Almay shade-sensing foundation, which she rubs on with her fingers; not one but two concealers—“I have a very tiny brush and just go in there like a painter,” she notes—and brown shadow applied, in an eye-popping move, on the lash line. “I think I definitely was the biggest makeup [and] skin-care lover from PLL,” Hale recalls before reconsidering: “No, you know what? Shay [Mitchell] was very into makeup.”

Though Hale, who’s been in front of the camera for the past 15 years, is well accustomed to working with professional makeup artists, there’s one feature over which she’s learned to be highly protective. “Brows have become my thing,” says Hale, who refuses to let any makeup artist touch her carefully crafted arches. She employs a combination of a fine-tipped pencil, used to fill in sparse spots, and a brown finishing gel. “I never leave the house without brushing my brows”—or applying a spritz of dry shampoo and texturizing spray. Twenty minutes later, she’s ready for the day ahead: “This is the final look!” she says. (source)

The CW is set to make a decision on the future on Katy Keene “in a few weeks” and the network hopes that more streaming numbers will make up for “soft” linear ratings.

The network will take into account streaming figures for the show, which will have all episodes stacked on The CW’s digital platform and will launch on HBO Max at the end of the month, before making a renewal decision.

The CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz added that it had extended the options on the cast ahead of a decision.

Speaking on a call to discuss the network’s fall and 2021 schedule, he said that he was pleased with the creative of the show. “The linear ratings have been soft but we have seen some good streaming viewership,” he added. “We’ll make a decision in a few weeks.”

Katy Keene launched on The CW on February 6. The Riverdale spinoff, which is headlined by Lucy Hale, was handed an additional 13 scripts in January.

A second season of the show, which is based on the Archie Comics characters, was / is considered likely given that it comes from A-list creative auspices, Greg Berlanti and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and is fronted by a well-known CW star in Hale. (source)

After believably playing a pretty, little, lying high schooler in Rosewood for seven long years, Lucy Hale and her impeccable skin were destined for a beauty contract. The day has finally come: Today, Almay announced that Hale is the newest global brand ambassador for the clean, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free beauty line.

Almay is a good match for Lucy Hale , who (like many) reports that her skin is as sensitive as Drake. “For someone who has and still deals with skin issues, it’s so important that, from start to finish, I keep my beauty routine as gentle as possible, which is why I love Almay products”, Lucy said in a statement. “From their eyeliners to their mascaras to their makeup-remover towelettes, Almay uses gentle ingredients in products that are specially formulated to avoid irritation.”

In her new role, Hale will act as the face of Almay in a series of upcoming campaigns, including the launch of a series of yet-to-be-revealed products this winter. While we wait for all of those to premiere, you can catch Lucy, her skin, and her excellent brows on the CW’s Riverdale spinoff, Katy Keene, in the meantime. (source)
